What is Brustan-N 400mg?
Brustan-N is a powerful non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to manage pain and inflammation. Manufactured by Ranbaxy Nigeria Limited, each film-coated tablet contains 400mg of Ibuprofen BP.
Uses of Brustan-N
Brustan-N 400mg is effective for the relief of:
- Tension headaches and migraines
- Dental pain (toothache)
- Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
- Muscular aches and joint pain
- Inflammation from arthritis (rheumatoid and osteoarthritis)
Brustan-N Dosage for Adults
For adults and adolescents over 12 years, the typical dosage is one tablet (400mg) taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 3 tablets (1200mg) in a 24-hour period unless directed by a doctor.
It is best to take Brustan-N with food or a glass of milk to reduce the risk of stomach upset. If you are unsure about the dosage, you can speak with a GoMed pharmacist for guidance.
Precautions and Safety
Brustan-N should be used with caution. Consult your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, kidney or liver issues, or heart disease.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. It is generally not recommended during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Note: Do not confuse Brustan-N with Brustan Plus. Brustan-N contains only Ibuprofen, while Brustan Plus is a combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol.
