Uses of Calcium Gluconate Injection

- Acute Hypocalcemia: Rapidly treating dangerously low blood calcium levels (hypocalcemic tetany).
- Hyperkalemia: Serving as a cardioprotective agent to protect the heart from high potassium levels.

Dosage and Administration
This medication is for Slow Intravenous (IV) Injection or IV Infusion only. It must be administered by a qualified healthcare professional.
Important Safety Warning: Do not administer this injection via intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) routes. Doing so can lead to severe tissue damage, sloughing, and necrosis at the injection site. The IV injection rate must be slow to avoid cardiac side effects such as arrhythmias.
Storage and Handling
- Store at controlled room temperature (15°C to 30°C).
- Do not freeze.
- Inspect the solution before use; it should be clear and free of particles. If crystals are present, they may be dissolved by gently warming the ampoule.
