Celebrex contains celecoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, designed to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation associated with various conditions. Each capsule provides 200 mg of celecoxib, offering effective relief for both acute and chronic conditions.

Indications

• Osteoarthritis: Relieves joint pain, swelling, and stiffness.
• Rheumatoid Arthritis: Reduces inflammation and pain in affected joints.
• Ankylosing Spondylitis: Helps manage symptoms of spinal arthritis.
• Acute Pain: Addresses short-term pain such as postoperative discomfort.
• Primary Dysmenorrhea: Provides relief from menstrual pain.

Ingredients

• Active Ingredient:

  • Celecoxib: 200 mg per capsule

• Inactive Ingredients:

  • Lactose Monohydrate
  • Croscarmellose Sodium

Dosage and Administration

• Osteoarthritis:

  • 200 mg once daily or 100 mg twice daily.

• Rheumatoid Arthritis:

  • 100–200 mg twice daily.

• Ankylosing Spondylitis:

  • 200 mg daily, taken as a single dose or divided into two doses.

• Acute Pain and Primary Dysmenorrhea:

  • Initial dose of 400 mg, followed by an additional 200 mg if needed on the first day. Continue with 200 mg twice daily as required.

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to celecoxib or sulfonamides.
• History of asthma or allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Use in coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

• Cardiovascular Risk: Increased risk of serious cardiovascular events, including heart attack and stroke.
• Gastrointestinal Risk: Potential for gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation.

Side Effects

• Common: Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness.
• Serious: Cardiovascular events, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver or kidney dysfunction, severe skin reactions.

Drug Interactions

• May interact with anticoagulants, other NSAIDs, diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and lithium.
