CHYMOCIN (Trypsin + Chymotrypsin) Tablets
CHYMOCIN is a specialized proteolytic enzyme medication widely used in Nigeria to manage inflammation and edema (swelling). It is formulated with a potent combination of Trypsin and Chymotrypsin in a 6:1 ratio, providing 50,000 USP units of enzyme activity per tablet.
These enzymes work by breaking down proteins involved in the inflammatory process, helping to clear out necrotic tissue and fluid buildup at the site of an injury. This helps your body heal faster and reduces the pain associated with "pepperish" sensations or heavy swelling.
What is CHYMOCIN used for?
CHYMOCIN tablets are commonly prescribed for:
- Post-Surgery Recovery: Reducing swelling and promoting wound healing after surgical procedures.
- Traumatic Injuries: Managing edema from sprains, fractures, and soft tissue injuries.
- Dental Care: Helping with recovery after tooth extractions or oral surgery.
- Gynecological Conditions: Assisting in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and post-caesarean healing.
How to use CHYMOCIN
For the best results, CHYMOCIN should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- Recommended Dosage: Typically, one tablet is taken four times a day.
- Timing: It is important to take the tablet at least 30 minutes before meals.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet, as it has a special enteric coating to protect it from stomach acid.
