Clopilad Clopidogrel 75mg Tablets x 30
Clopilad is an antiplatelet medicine (often called a "blood thinner") that contains Clopidogrel 75mg. It helps keep your blood flowing smoothly by stopping platelets from sticking together to form dangerous clots. This medicine is vital for people at high risk of heart problems.
What is Clopilad 75mg used for?
Doctors in Nigeria usually prescribe Clopilad for adults who have recently had:
- A Heart Attack: To stop another one from happening.
- An Ischemic Stroke: To reduce the risk of a repeat stroke.
- Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD): To improve circulation in the legs and arms.
- Stent Placement: To keep blood vessels open after a procedure.
How Clopilad Works
The active ingredient, Clopidogrel Bisulfate, works by blocking certain receptors on your blood cells (platelets). This makes the blood "less sticky." It is often used alongside Aspirin in certain heart conditions for better protection.
How to take Clopilad Tablets
- Standard Dose: Take one 75mg tablet once every day.
- When to take: You can take it with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day, like in the morning or evening.
- Don't Stop: Do not stop taking Clopilad without talking to your doctor or GoMed pharmacist. Stopping suddenly can increase your risk of a heart attack.
Safety and Side Effects
Because this medicine thins your blood, you might find that you bruise more easily or that a small cut takes longer to stop bleeding. This is normal. However, tell your doctor if you notice severe bleeding that won't stop.
Important: If you are planning to have surgery or a dental procedure, tell your doctor you are taking Clopilad.
