Ditropan (Oxybutynin) 5mg 84 Tablets
Ditropan is a medication used to manage symptoms of an overactive bladder (OAB). It contains the active ingredient Oxybutynin Hydrochloride, which belongs to a class of drugs called urinary antispasmodics.
What is Ditropan Used For?
Ditropan is primarily prescribed to help control bladder problems, including:
- Urinary Urgency: A sudden, strong need to urinate.
- Frequency: Needing to urinate more often than usual.
- Incontinence: Leakage of urine.
- Nocturnal Enuresis: Bedwetting in children aged 5 years and older.
How It Works
The medication works by relaxing the detrusor muscle, which is the muscle in the bladder wall. By inhibiting involuntary contractions, Ditropan increases the bladder's capacity and delays the urge to void, providing relief from frequent trips to the bathroom.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Ditropan can cause side effects. Common ones include:
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Blurred vision
- Drowsiness or dizziness
If you experience severe dizziness or persistent side effects, consult your healthcare provider or a GoMed pharmacist.
Storage and Handling
Store Ditropan tablets below 30°C in a dry place. Keep the pack protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. Given the Nigerian climate, ensure the product is kept in a cool environment to maintain its efficacy.
