E Mal Injection: Fast-Acting Treatment for Severe Malaria in Nigeria
E Mal Injection (often referred to as Emal) is a potent antimalarial containing Alpha-Beta Arteether. It is a semi-synthetic derivative of artemisinin, specifically formulated for the clinical cure of severe and complicated malaria, including cerebral malaria.
In Nigeria, E Mal is a trusted choice when oral medication is not possible, such as when a patient is vomiting or unconscious. It is manufactured by Themis Medicare and distributed in partnership with Fidson Healthcare.
What is E Mal Injection Used For?
E Mal is primarily used to treat infections caused by multi-drug resistant Plasmodium falciparum. It works rapidly as a blood schizonticide, clearing malaria parasites from the bloodstream typically within 24 to 48 hours.
