FC2 Female Condom: Reliable Protection and Control
The FC2 Female Condom, also known as an internal condom, is a latex-free barrier contraceptive designed to give women independent control over their sexual health. It is the only woman-initiated method that provides dual protection against unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS.
Why Choose FC2 Internal Condoms?
Unlike traditional male condoms, the FC2 is made from synthetic nitrile, which is stronger than latex and warms to body temperature for a more natural feel. Since it is latex-free, it is completely safe for people with latex allergies or sensitivities.
One major benefit is spontaneity. You can insert the FC2 up to several hours before sexual activity, so you don't have to interrupt the moment. It does not require a penile erection to stay in place, and it offers extra protection by covering the labia and the base of the penis.
How to Use the FC2 Female Condom
- Preparation: Check the expiry date and ensure the package has air inside before opening.
- Insertion: Squeeze the flexible inner ring at the closed end of the sheath and insert it into the vagina. Use your finger to push it up as far as it will go, reaching the cervix.
- Positioning: The outer ring should remain outside the vagina, covering the vaginal opening.
- During Intercourse: Guide the penis into the opening of the condom. If the penis slips outside the sheath or the outer ring is pushed inside, stop and reposition.
- Removal: After use, twist the outer ring to keep the fluid inside and gently pull the condom out. Dispose of it in a bin.
Safety and Quality
The FC2 is FDA-approved and WHO-prequalified. It is compatible with both water-based and oil-based lubricants.
Important Note: Never use a female condom and a male condom at the same time, as the friction can cause both to tear. If you have questions about how to use this or other contraceptive methods, you can speak with a GoMed pharmacist for professional and private advice.
