Unlike standard antacids, Gaviscon Double Action performs two essential functions:
- Forms a Protective Barrier: The sodium alginate in Gaviscon reacts with stomach acid to create a physical gel "raft" that floats on top of the stomach contents. This barrier helps prevent acid from rising back into the food pipe (reflux).
- Neutralizes Excess Acid: It contains calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, which quickly neutralize excess stomach acid to provide rapid relief from indigestion pain.

Usage and Dosage
