Lokmal QS Combi 80/480mg is a combination antimalarial medication used for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria, particularly malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum. It contains two active ingredients:
- Artemether 80mg – a fast-acting artemisinin derivative that quickly reduces the number of malaria parasites in the blood
- Lumefantrine 480mg – a longer-acting partner drug that helps clear remaining parasites and prevent recurrence
This combination therapy is part of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended treatment for malaria and is commonly prescribed in Nigeria due to its effectiveness and tolerability.
