Mistol contains Misoprostol 200 micrograms as its active ingredient. Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analogue that works by protecting the stomach lining and inducing uterine contractions. It is primarily prescribed to help prevent gastric ulcers in patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and, under medical supervision, may also be used for gynecological or obstetric purposes such as cervical ripening or medical termination of pregnancy.
