Indications
Premarin is prescribed for:
Menopausal Symptoms: Alleviating moderate to severe hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness associated with menopause.

Osteoporosis Prevention: Reducing the risk of osteoporosis (bone loss) in postmenopausal women.

Dosage and Administration
Dosage: The dosage varies based on the condition being treated. For menopausal symptoms, a common starting dose is 0.3 mg to 0.625 mg once daily. For osteoporosis prevention, the dose may range from 0.3 mg to 0.625 mg daily. Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions.
Administration: Take the tablet orally at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Precautions
Endometrial Cancer: Estrogen-alone therapy increases the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus. Adding a progestin reduces this risk.
Cardiovascular Disorders and Dementia: Estrogen therapy may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and dementia. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with treatment goals.
Breast Cancer: Estrogen therapy may increase the risk of breast cancer. Regular breast examinations and mammograms are recommended.
Blood Clots: There is an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) with estrogen use.
