Product Overview

Talen 3 mg tablets contain bromazepam, a benzodiazepine medication primarily used for the short-term relief of severe anxiety and tension. Bromazepam functions by enhancing the effect of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, producing a calming effect.

Indications

• Anxiety Disorders: Talen is indicated for the treatment of anxiety or tension associated with functional or organic disorders. Benzodiazepines are only indicated when the disorder is severe, disabling, or subjecting the individual to extreme distress.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: The usual dose ranges from 6 mg to 18 mg daily, divided into multiple doses. In severe cases, the dose may be increased up to 30 mg per day. Treatment should begin with the lowest effective dose and should not exceed 8 to 12 weeks, including a tapering-off process.

• Elderly Patients: A lower initial dose of 3 mg daily, divided into multiple doses, is recommended due to increased sensitivity.

• Administration: Talen tablets should be taken orally with water. The tablets can be divided into equal doses if necessary.

Precautions

• Dependence and Withdrawal: Prolonged use can lead to physical and psychological dependence. Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided; instead, the dose should be gradually reduced under medical supervision.

• Contraindications: Talen should not be used in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency, severe hepatic insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, or a history of hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines.

• Alcohol and CNS Depressants: Concurrent use with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants can enhance the sedative effects and should be avoided.
