Bonduretic Tablets combine two active ingredients, Amiloride Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide, to effectively treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and fluid retention (edema). This combination works synergistically to promote the elimination of excess fluid while maintaining essential potassium levels, offering a balanced approach to diuretic therapy.

Active Ingredients

Mechanism of Action

• Amiloride Hydrochloride: A potassium-sparing diuretic that prevents the body from losing too much potassium while aiding in the removal of excess sodium and water.
• Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.

Indications

• Hypertension: Lowers high blood pressure to help prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
• Edema: Reduces swelling and fluid retention caused by various medical conditions, including heart failure and liver cirrhosis.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: The usual starting dose is one tablet taken once daily, preferably with food. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response to treatment.
• Maximum Dose: Do not exceed two tablets per day.
• Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Contraindications

• Allergy: Do not use if allergic to amiloride, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other component of the tablet.
