Brimopress Eye Drop (Brimonidine Tartrate 0.2%) 5ml

Brimopress Eye Drop is a sterile ophthalmic solution containing Brimonidine Tartrate 0.2%, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It is widely prescribed in Nigeria to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Effective management of eye pressure is vital to prevent optic nerve damage and potential vision loss.

How Brimopress Works

Brimopress utilizes a "dual-action" mechanism to effectively control internal eye pressure:

1. Reduces Fluid Production: It decreases the amount of aqueous humor (the fluid inside the eye) being produced.
2. Improves Fluid Drainage: It enhances the drainage of fluid from the eye through the uveoscleral outflow pathway.

This combined effect helps achieve target eye pressure levels and protects long-term ocular health.

Dosage and Administration

Always apply Brimopress exactly as prescribed by your ophthalmologist. The standard dosage for adults in Nigeria is:

• One drop in the affected eye(s) two to three times daily, with doses spaced approximately 8 to 12 hours apart.

Application Tips:

• Ensure the dropper tip does not touch your eye or any other surface to maintain sterility.
• If using other eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.
• Contact Lenses: If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Side Effects and Precautions

While generally well-tolerated, some users may experience mild side effects such as eye redness, stinging, blurred vision, dry mouth, or fatigue. Storage and Handling

Store Brimopress at room temperature (below 25-30°C) and protect from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. To ensure sterility, discard the bottle 28 days after first opening.
