Effective Relief for Pain and Fever in Infants and Young Children

CALPOL® Infant Suspension is a strawberry-flavored liquid paracetamol formulation designed to provide gentle and effective relief from pain and fever in children aged 2 months to 6 years. Its sugar-free composition is suitable for delicate tummies, ensuring comfort during common childhood ailments.

Active Ingredient

• Paracetamol: 120 mg per 5 ml

Indications

• Fever Reduction: Helps lower high temperatures, including post-immunization fever.

• Pain Relief: Alleviates discomfort from teething, headaches, sore throats, earaches, and other minor aches and pains.

Dosage and Administration

• Infants 2–3 Months:

  • Post-Immunization Fever: Administer 2.5 ml. If necessary, after 4–6 hours, give a second 2.5 ml dose. Do not exceed 2 doses in 24 hours.

  • Other Causes of Pain and Fever: Administer 2.5 ml if the infant weighs over 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks. A second 2.5 ml dose may be given after 4–6 hours if needed. Do not exceed 2 doses in 24 hours.

• Children 3 Months to 6 Years:

  • 3–6 Months: 2.5 ml up to 4 times in 24 hours.

  • 6–24 Months: 5 ml up to 4 times in 24 hours.

  • 2–4 Years: 7.5 ml (5 ml + 2.5 ml) up to 4 times in 24 hours.

  • 4–6 Years: 10 ml (5 ml + 5 ml) up to 4 times in 24 hours.

• Administration: Shake the bottle well for at least 10 seconds before use. Use the provided dosing syringe to ensure accurate measurement. Administer orally. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period.

Precautions

• Consult a Doctor: Before use in infants under 2 months or if your child has liver or kidney problems.

• Allergies: Do not use if your child is allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients in the product.

• Avoid Concurrent Paracetamol Use: Do not give with other paracetamol-containing products.

• Storage: Store below 25°C. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Possible Side Effects

• Rare: Allergic reactions such as skin rash. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional immediately.
