What is Clinival-V?
Clinival-V is a powerful dual-action treatment for mixed vaginal infections. Each pack contains 7 vaginal suppositories (often called "inserts" or "pessaries") formulated with Clindamycin Phosphate and Clotrimazole.
In Nigeria, this combination is frequently used to treat what is commonly known as a "toilet infection". It is effective against bacterial vaginosis (BV), yeast infections (candidiasis), and trichomoniasis.
How Clinival-V Works
This medication provides a two-pronged approach to relief:
- Clindamycin is an antibiotic that clears harmful bacteria.
- Clotrimazole is an antifungal that stops the growth of yeast.
By targeting both bacteria and fungi, Clinival-V helps stop itching, unusual discharge, and unpleasant odors quickly.
How to Use Clinival-V Vaginal Inserts
For the best results and fast relief:
- Wash your hands and the vaginal area before use.
- Remove one suppository from the pack.
- Lie on your back with your knees bent.
- Gently insert the suppository deep into the vagina using your finger or the applicator.
- Use one insert every night at bedtime for 7 days.
Tip: Using it at night prevents the medicine from leaking out while you move. If you have questions about how to use it, you can speak with a GoMed pharmacist online for guidance.
Side Effects and Safety
You may feel a mild burning or "pepperish" sensation immediately after insertion. This is usually temporary. However, if you experience severe irritation or a rash, stop using it and consult a doctor.
Pregnancy: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, always consult your doctor or a GoMed pharmacist before starting this treatment. Continue the full 7-day course even if symptoms disappear early.
