What is Clinival-V?
Clinival-V is a broad-spectrum anti-infective treatment formulated to address various vaginal discomforts. It is a combination therapy containing Clindamycin Phosphate (an antibiotic) and Clotrimazole (an antifungal). This makes it particularly effective for mixed infections where both bacteria and fungi are present.
In Nigeria, these are often referred to as "vaginal inserts" or "pessaries" and are commonly used to treat what is locally known as "toilet infection"—a general term for symptoms like itching, abnormal discharge, and burning sensations.
How Clinival-V Works
The active ingredients work together to restore balance:
- Clindamycin targets harmful bacteria that cause bacterial vaginosis (BV).
- Clotrimazole eliminates the fungi responsible for yeast infections (candidiasis).
