Polygynax is a local anti-infective treatment formulated for gynecological health. It is a fixed-dose combination therapy consisting of two antibiotics and one antifungal agent, designed to treat mixed bacterial and fungal infections. In Nigeria, these are often referred to as "toilet infections."
Uses of Polygynax
Polygynax is used for the treatment of:
- Mixed bacterial and fungal vaginitis
- Non-specific vaginitis
- Vulvovaginitis
The three active ingredients work together to provide comprehensive relief:
- Neomycin Sulfate & Polymyxin B Sulfate: Broad-spectrum antibiotics that target Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
- Nystatin: A potent antifungal that acts against yeast, particularly Candida species.
How to Use Polygynax Vaginal Capsules
To get the best results from your treatment, follow these steps on how to insert the capsules:
- Wash your hands thoroughly before use.
- Lie on your back with your knees drawn up toward your chest.
- Insert one soft capsule (ovule) deep into the vagina.
- It is best to do this at bedtime to ensure the medication remains in place while you sleep.
- Use one capsule daily for 12 consecutive days.

Safety and Precautions
