Polygynax Vaginal Capsules x12 – Treatment for Vaginal Infections
Polygynax is a highly effective, triple-action treatment for mixed vaginal infections, commonly referred to in Nigeria as "toilet infections." Each pack contains 12 soft vaginal capsules (ovules) designed to provide a full 12-day course of treatment for bacterial and fungal infections.
Why Use Polygynax?
Polygynax is formulated with three active ingredients to tackle different types of pathogens:
- Neomycin Sulfate & Polymyxin B Sulfate: These are antibiotics that eliminate harmful bacteria like Staph and E. coli that cause bacterial vaginosis (BV).
- Nystatin: A powerful antifungal agent that clears yeast infections (Candidiasis).
This combination makes Polygynax ideal for mixed infections where both bacteria and yeast are present, leading to symptoms like abnormal discharge, itching, and irritation.
Key Benefits
- Fast Relief: Targeted action helps reduce itching and irritation quickly.
- Comprehensive Treatment: Clears up non-specific vaginitis and mixed infections.
- Convenient Soft Capsules: The "ovule" form is easy to insert and dissolves deep within the vagina.
How to Use Polygynax
For the best results, insert one capsule deep into the vagina once daily at night before bed for 12 consecutive days. It is important to complete the entire 12-day course, even if your period starts or symptoms disappear sooner. If you need help with the correct technique, you can contact a GoMed pharmacist.
Important Precautions
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor or a GoMed pharmacist before use. Research suggests caution during pregnancy due to the Neomycin content.
- Menstruation: Do not stop treatment during your period. Continue the 12-day course as prescribed.
- Contraceptives: The ingredients in the capsules can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms. Use alternative protection during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the final dose.
- Side Effects: Some users may experience a mild burning or "pepperish" sensation. If you notice severe itching or a rash, stop use and seek medical advice.
