How Daktacort Cream Works
This cream contains two active ingredients:
- Miconazole nitrate (2%): An antifungal that kills various fungi and bacteria that cause skin infections.
- Hydrocortisone (1%): A mild corticosteroid that reduces skin inflammation, swelling, and itching.
Indications: What is it used for?
Daktacort is commonly used in Nigeria to treat:
- Infected Eczema: Red, itchy, and inflamed skin patches that have become infected.
- Sweat Rash (Intertrigo): Irritation occurring in skin folds (like the groin or under breasts) often caused by yeast.
- Athlete's Foot (Tinea Pedis): Fungal infection between the toes.
- Infected Nappy Rash: For infants (under medical supervision).
- Relief from symptoms of fungal growth: Helps with external itching often associated with "toilet infection" or candidiasis.
Directions for Use
- Apply a small amount to the affected area 1 to 3 times daily.
