Daktarin 2% Topical Cream 15g: Fast Antifungal Relief
Daktarin 2% Topical Cream is a trusted and fast-acting solution for various fungal and yeast infections of the skin. Formulated with Miconazole Nitrate, this cream effectively targets the root cause of infections. It provides sharp relief from itching, redness, and discomfort.
What is Daktarin Cream Used For?
In Nigeria, Daktarin is a staple for treating skin conditions that cause irritation. It is indicated for:
- Ringworm (Tinea Corporis): Clears circular red patches on the body quickly.
- Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis): Relieves scaling and intense itching between the toes.
- Jock Itch (Tinea Cruris): Targets fungal growth in the groin area.
- Cutaneous Candidiasis: Effective for yeast infections on the skin, including infected nappy rash (often called 'toilet infection' locally).
- Associated Bacterial Infections: Daktarin also acts against certain Gram-positive bacteria that can complicate fungal lesions.
Daktarin Cream vs Daktarin Gold
It is important to note that standard Daktarin Cream contains Miconazole Nitrate. This is different from Daktarin Gold (or Intensiv), which contains Ketoconazole. Always ensure you are using the correct version for your condition.
How to Use Daktarin Cream
For the best results and to prevent the infection from returning, follow these steps:
- Cleanse: Wash the affected area and dry it thoroughly before you apply the cream.
- Apply: Gently rub a small amount into the affected area and the surrounding skin.
- Frequency: Use twice daily (morning and night).
- Duration: Continue using for at least 10 days after all symptoms have cleared. This ensures the fungus is completely gone.
