What is Epiderm Lotion?
Epiderm Lotion is a potent, broad-spectrum "triple-action" topical treatment manufactured by Shalina Healthcare. It is formulated to manage inflammatory skin conditions complicated by either bacterial or fungal infections.
Because it contains a corticosteroid, an antibiotic, and two antifungal agents, it provides fast relief from itching, redness, and swelling associated with various skin issues.
Epiderm Lotion Uses: What is it used for?
In Nigeria, Epiderm Lotion is commonly used for:
- Eczema and Psoriasis: To reduce inflammation and scaling.
- Ringworm (Tinea corporis): Effectively targets the fungal infection.
- Athlete's Foot (Tinea pedis): Relief for itchy, peeling feet.
- Dermatitis: Including seborrheic and contact dermatitis.
- Infected Heat Rash: Helps when a rash becomes complicated by bacteria.
Triple Action Formula
- Anti-inflammatory: Contains Betamethasone Dipropionate to stop the "pepperish" sensation and swelling.
- Antibacterial: Gentamicin targets common skin bacteria.
- Antifungal: Tolnaftate and Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline treat fungal growth like ringworm.
Caution: Epiderm vs Epaderm
It is important not to confuse Epiderm with Epaderm. While Epaderm is a simple moisturizing emollient for dry skin, Epiderm is a medicated lotion containing a steroid. Do not use Epiderm as a regular body cream or for skin lightening/bleaching, as prolonged use can lead to skin thinning and other side effects.
How to use Epiderm Lotion
