Effective Treatment for Eye and Ear Bacterial Infections
Gentalab Eye/Ear Drop is a sterile antibiotic solution containing Gentamicin Sulfate (0.3% w/v). It is a powerful broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic used in Nigeria to treat surface infections of the eye and the external ear canal.
Whether you are dealing with "pink eye" (conjunctivitis) or a painful ear infection (swimmer's ear), Gentalab works by stopping the growth of bacteria, providing relief from redness, discharge, and irritation.
Uses of Gentalab Eye/Ear Drops
- Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Effective against "pink eye" caused by susceptible bacteria.
- Keratitis: Treatment of bacterial inflammation of the cornea.
- Otitis Externa: Clears infections in the outer ear canal (swimmer's ear).
- Blepharitis: Helps manage bacterial infection of the eyelids.
How to Use Gentalab Correctly
- For Eyes: Wash your hands. Gently pull down the lower lid and apply the prescribed number of drops. Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any surface to avoid contamination.
- For Ears: Clean and dry the ear canal. Tilt your head and instill the drops. Remain in this position for a few minutes to allow the medicine to penetrate.
Important: Always complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor or GoMed pharmacist, even if symptoms improve quickly. This helps prevent the infection from returning.
Safety and Storage in Nigeria
- Discard after 28 days: To maintain sterility and safety, the bottle must be discarded 4 weeks after first opening.
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place (below 30°C). Protect from direct sunlight and do not freeze.
- Consultation: If you experience severe burning or worsening symptoms, stop use and contact a GoMed pharmacist or your healthcare provider immediately.
