Korlyns Latanoprost 0.005% Eye Drops 2.5ml
Korlyns Latanoprost 0.005% w/v is a sterile ophthalmic solution used to treat elevated pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure). It is primarily prescribed for patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. High pressure in the eye can damage the optic nerve, leading to vision loss if left untreated.
How Korlyns Latanoprost Works
As a prostaglandin F2α analogue, Latanoprost works by increasing the natural outflow of fluid (aqueous humor) from the eye. By improving the drainage through the uveoscleral pathway, it effectively lowers the internal eye pressure.
Direction for Use
- Dosage: The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening.
- Administration: Wash your hands before use. Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or any surface to avoid contamination.
- Contact Lenses: If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
Storage and Handling
Before opening, Korlyns Latanoprost should ideally be stored in a refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C). Once the bottle is opened, it can typically be kept at room temperature (up to 25°C) but must be used within 4 weeks. Always keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include a gradual change in eye color (increased brown pigment), eye redness, irritation, or thickening of eyelashes. If you experience severe eye pain or sudden vision changes, contact your doctor or a GoMed pharmacist immediately.
