Triple-Action Relief for Muscle Spasms and Pain
No-Ach Tablets are a potent combination medication formulated to provide comprehensive relief from acute musculoskeletal pain, inflammation, and muscle stiffness. Marketed in Nigeria by Pharma Ethics Limited, No-Ach combines an NSAID, an analgesic, and a muscle relaxant to target discomfort from multiple angles.
Active Ingredients
Each No-Ach tablet contains a blend of three active ingredients:
- Aceclofenac (100mg): A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and swelling.
- Paracetamol (500mg): An analgesic that enhances pain relief and manages fever.
- Chlorzoxazone (250mg): A centrally-acting muscle relaxant that works by blocking nerve impulses that cause muscle spasms and stiffness.
Common No-Ach Tablet Uses
In Nigeria, No-Ach is widely used for several painful conditions, including:
- Waist Pain (Lower Back Pain): Provides effective relief for spinal discomfort and lower back strains.
- Muscle Spasms: Relaxes stiff muscles resulting from sprains or overexertion.
- Arthritis and Spondylitis: Manages inflammation and pain associated with chronic joint conditions.
Important Regulatory & Safety Notice
As of July 2024, NAFDAC has issued a directive (NAFDAC-RDAP-023-00) to discontinue the registration of triple-combination drugs containing Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone due to safety concerns and a lack of established therapeutic justification. Before taking No-Ach, you must consult a GoMed pharmacist or your healthcare provider to discuss safer alternatives or confirm if this medication is appropriate for you.
Adult Dosage
The standard adult dosage for No-Ach is one tablet taken twice daily. It is recommended to take the tablets after meals to reduce the risk of stomach irritation.
Side Effects & Precautions
- Drowsiness: Due to the muscle relaxant component, No-Ach may cause significant drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.
- Stomach Ulcers: Individuals with a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding should avoid this medication, as Aceclofenac can cause gastrointestinal irritation.
- Liver Health: Use with caution and only under medical supervision due to risks associated with the combination.
