Pariet 20mg Tablets contain rabeprazole sodium, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production. They are used to treat various gastrointestinal conditions related to excessive stomach acid.

Uses
Pariet 20mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
- Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD): Managing symptoms such as heartburn caused by acid reflux.
- Peptic Ulcers: Healing ulcers in the stomach (gastric ulcers) or upper part of the intestine (duodenal ulcers).
- Helicobacter pylori Eradication: Used in combination with antibiotics to eliminate H. pylori infection, promoting ulcer healing and preventing recurrence.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Treating conditions where the stomach produces excessive acid.

Dosage and Administration

- Gastric Ulcers: One 20mg tablet once daily for 6 weeks.
- H. pylori Eradication: One 20mg tablet twice daily in combination with appropriate antibiotics, typically for 7 days.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Starting dose is three 20mg tablets once daily; dosage may be adjusted by your doctor based on response.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water and not chewed or crushed. They are best taken in the morning before eating.
Warnings and Precautions
- Do not take if allergic to rabeprazole or any other ingredients.
- Inform your doctor of any liver problems or if you are taking medications such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, or atazanavir.
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless deemed necessary by your doctor.
- Long-term use may increase the risk of fractures; consult your doctor if you have osteoporosis or are taking corticosteroids.
