Active Ingredient:

Each tablet contains 200 mg ketoconazole.

Health Benefit:

Ketoconazole Tablet is an antifungal medicine that works by killing and stopping the growth of the fungus causing the infection. It treats yeast or fungal infections such as candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), blastomycosis (Gilchrist's disease), coccidioidomycosis (Valley fever, San Joaquin Valley fever), histoplasmosis (Darling's disease), chromoblastomycosis (chromomycosis), or paracoccidioidomycosis.

Administration:

Dosage for Fungal Infections:

Adult dosage (ages 18 years and older): 200 mg taken once per day for up to 6 months.
Dosage increases: Your doctor may increase your dosage to 400 mg taken once per day if needed.
Child dosage (ages 2–17 years): Your doctor will decide a dosage based on your child’s weight. The dosage will range from 3.3–6.6 mg/kg of body weight taken once per day.
Child dosage (ages 0–1 years): It hasn’t been confirmed that ketoconazole is safe and effective for use in people younger than 2 years. In general, ketoconazole tablets shouldn’t be used in young children.

Precaution:

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including unusual tiredness, weakness, dizziness upon standing, diarrhea, weight loss.
