POCCO LISINOPRIL 5MG is a prescription medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It belongs to a class of drugs known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Lisinopril works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more smoothly, thereby lowering blood pressure. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications.
POCCO LISINOPRIL 5MG helps in lowering high blood pressure, preventing strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. By blocking the action of a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten, Lisinopril allows blood vessels to relax, reducing the workload on the heart.
Take POCCO LISINOPRIL 5MG by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. It's important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well, as most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick.
Before taking Lisinopril, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other ACE inhibitors (such as benazepril); or if you have any other allergies. Lisinopril may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. If you experience symptoms like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, or hives, seek medical help immediately.
A common side effect of ACE inhibitors like Lisinopril is a dry cough. This persistent cough can occur at any time while you're taking the drug, and it's usually not serious. However, if it bothers you, do not stop taking the medicine without talking to your doctor first. Other side effects may include dizziness due to a drop in blood pressure, kidney problems, and an increased level of potassium in the blood.
