Greenzoral Ketoconazole Cream 2%
Greenzoral Cream is a highly effective topical antifungal medication used to treat various skin infections caused by fungi and yeasts. Formulated with 2% Ketoconazole USP, it provides fast relief from itching, redness, and discomfort associated with common skin conditions.
What is Greenzoral Cream Used For?
Greenzoral is primarily used for the treatment of:
- Dermatophyte infections: Including ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and jock itch (tinea cruris).
- Cutaneous Candidiasis: Skin infections caused by yeast, sometimes colloquially referred to as "toilet infection" in Nigeria.
- Sun Fungus: Tinea versicolor (pityriasis), which causes patches of discolored skin.
- Seborrheic Dermatitis: Scaling and itchy skin often found on the face or scalp.
How Greenzoral Works
The active ingredient, Ketoconazole, belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It works by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This weakens the cell wall, effectively stopping the growth of the fungus and clearing the infection.
Application and Usage
For best results, apply a thin layer of Greenzoral cream to the affected area and the immediate surrounding skin once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional. Ensure the area is clean and dry before application.
Always complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early to prevent the infection from returning.
