What is Tydisil Cream?
Tydisil Cream (also known as Tydisil Xtra) is a potent topical antifungal medication used to treat a variety of skin infections. It contains Terbinafine Hydrochloride 1% w/w, which belongs to the allylamine class of antifungals.
Tydisil works by stopping the growth of fungi that cause skin irritation and infections. It is particularly effective because it has a fungicidal effect, meaning it kills the fungal cells rather than just inhibiting their growth.
Tydisil Cream Uses
Tydisil is used for the treatment of:
- Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) - typically found between the toes.
- Ringworm (tinea corporis) - red, itchy, scaly patches on the body.
- Jock itch (tinea cruris) - fungal infection in the groin area.
- Pityriasis versicolor - a condition that causes small, discolored patches of skin.
- Cutaneous candidiasis - yeast infections of the skin.
How to Use Tydisil Cream
- Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly.
- Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin and the surrounding area.
- Rub in gently.
- Wash your hands after application to prevent spreading the infection.
- Use once or twice daily for 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Important Precautions
