Overview
Peflomed Tablets are an antibiotic medication containing pefloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. This medication is commonly used to treat typhoid fever, soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections, genito-urinary infections, and bone and joint infections.

- Intravenous Infusion: 400 mg in 100 ml of 5% dextrose solution, administered slowly over one hour twice daily.

- Central nervous system effects: dizziness, headache, tiredness, confusion, and convulsions

Precautions
- Sunlight Exposure: Avoid exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet radiation during treatment to prevent photosensitivity reactions.
- Hepatic Insufficiency: Dosage adjustment is required for patients with severe hepatic insufficiency.
- Contraindications: Not recommended for use in children and growing adolescents, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
Interactions
Antacids can interfere with the absorption of Peflomed, leading to lower serum and urine levels. Therefore, concurrent use of antacids and Peflomed should be avoided.
Storage
Store Peflomed Tablets at room temperature, away from excess heat and moisture.
