It is not known if Coartem is safe and effective in children younger than 2 years of age or less than 5 kilos (11 lbs). This Tablets have been shown to be effective in places where resistance to chloroquine has been reported. Coartem is used only to treat malaria. Do not use this medicine to prevent malaria and also Serious drug interactions can occur when certain medicines are used together.
