Maydon Doxycycline
Product Description
Maydon Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum tetracycline-class antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), acne, and certain parasitic diseases.
Doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping the growth of infection-causing organisms. It may also be used as a preventive treatment for malaria and in combination therapy for conditions such as Helicobacter pylori infections.

Directions for Use
- Take with a full glass of water to reduce the risk of esophageal irritation.
- Should be taken on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, unless directed otherwise.
- Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking.
- Complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve earlier.
Precautions
- Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women unless specifically prescribed.
- Contraindicated in children under 8 years, due to risk of permanent tooth discoloration.
- May cause photosensitivity; avoid prolonged sun exposure.
- Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.
- May interact with antacids, iron, calcium, and dairy products — space doses apart.
